Since the dawn of time, Shoei helmets has been producing the MultiTec, a not-so-heavy, not-quite-lightweight modular helmet that Shoei claimed was built to their exacting and stringent standards.
Since then, modular helmets have becom lighter, quieter, more comfortable and began adding features such as removable liners, pockets for speaker/intercommunication systems, internal sun shields and more. Shoei, sticking to the rules that have made them the top of the heap in terms of safety and quality, stuck with the MultiTec’s aging design, insisting that the helmet was a safe as it could get and adding bells and whistles would take away from that.
Somebody at the Tokyo factory figured something out because this year, they’ve made a modern version of grandpa’s helmet: The Neotec!
We got the chance to take a couple of pics pre-Indy tradeshow. You can check them out on our Google Plus page!
Expect to see the Neotec at Motorcycle Closeouts in March!
