Our final 2011 Motorcycle Closeouts sponsored track day at Heartland Park Topeka was Monday the 24 of October.
Normally we go out and some of us ride, some of us work and we capture the whole lot on digital and even sometimes film. Our customers seem to enjoy it and we enjoy that we are able to provide a little bit extra to our customers who help us support the fun that is racing around a road course on a motorcycle with friends.
The guy who is deservedly credited for putting on the track days is Hector St. John, former USGPRU champion and a blisteringly fast and capable rider. If you’ve ever gone to the track days at HPT you’ve met Hector. If you’ve ever listened to the local rock station, you’ve probably heard of him at least a couple of times (98.9 the Rock’s Johnny Dare is friends with Hector and the work he does). What you may not know about the guy is that he actually has a life outside of racing motorcycles.
St.John volunteers his time to many different organizations and charities; striving to give to those in need. One of the places that he volunteers his time is a local children’s home.
I had the chance to spend a little extra time with Hector and we decided to put together a short flick for the kids so they could experience some of the racing excitement, away from the track.
We plan on doing an extended cut of the above video, so look for that soon.
